Sunday - day of no rest - October 22, 2018

Y'ALL.
Oh my goodness I don't even know where to begin. This week has been a spiritual whirlwind. It has been phenomenal. It all started with Monday night...
So, we left the church on Monday after having a great preparation day. A few of us got together and decided we were going to eat Habenero peppers. If any of y'all haven't done this.... don't do it. It was incredibly spicy and hot and it melted my insides. All was well though, we each had fun. We left the church and went to a lesson with Joy. We taught her the word of wisdom and the law of chastity and all things went great. She agreed with what we had taught her and is getting more and more excited for her baptism.
After Joy's lesson we went to go and read the scriptures with Ryan. I have said this before and I will continue to say it, the book of Mormon changes lives. It was one of the best lessons I have had as a missionary. We read in 1st Nephi about Lehi and his dream of the tree of life. At the end of the chapter we were going over the symbolism and she was just smiling. Afterwards we asked her how she was feeling and she opened up. She shared that she found out that the book of Mormon is true. We went through the steps... if the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph smith is a prophet, which means the priesthood is restored, which is means it's on the earth today and so forth. The light flicked on and she knew what she had learned was true. We set a baptism date with her that day. November 14th couldn't come quicker:)
We had the conference with Elder Holland on Tuesday. It was incredible. I know for a fact that he is a called apostle of the Lord. The power he speaks with only comes through the power of the holy ghost. He screamed repentance to us reminding us how important out calling is. It made me think about how long I have been out. 13 months is a really long time but I would stay out forever to continue holding my title as a missionary. I love being a missionary. I love the things I have learned and I love the Lord. I learned so much in this conference and I am grateful.
Fast forward to Sunday. I know I have said this before but Sundays are the biggest lie. It is not a day of rest. It is the busiest day for a missionary. We start our meetings early in the morning and don't leave the church building until dinner time at 5. Yesterday we were expecting a slower Sunday, we were expecting one investigator at church. We were excited, she was a referral from Las Vegas and she is pretty solid. We had a lesson with her earlier in the week and taught her the restoration. She enjoyed it and has enjoyed reading the book of Mormon. We showed up to sacrament meeting and we had not one, not two, not three, but SIX new people at church this week! We were running around like crazy. We didn't know what to do haha. We had to herd kids to primary, herd investigators to class, and teach primary kids what it's like to be a missionary. It was amazing. We feel so blessed to be in this area. We received transfer news last night and me and sister Naea will be staying in the Carrollton area for another 5 weeks. We are really excited and look forward to being here and continuing the work.
Y'all, I love being a missionary. It's so much fun. The things we see, the people we talk to, the spirit we feel, it's amazing. I love my calling and I cherish it. I will work my hardest for the next 4 months and represent Christ the best I can. I sure do love y'all. Have a great week.
Love y'all!
