Wow I sound like a 10 year old but I don't even care. This week has been SOOOO good! So much fun, too many laughs, wayyy too many pictures. I have had so much fun with sister Keller. There are not even words. Transfer week is always kind of lame but when one of your favorite people transfer into your area it because pretty great. We have had so much fun together. All while doing what we love most, missionary work.
My week has been so good. Monday, we were playing volleyball with our zone for p day. I jumped to spike the ball (yes family, I am tall enough/can jump tall enough to spike) and crashed into an elder. We both came a tumbling down and I shreked my ankle. I sat there on the ground looking at my swelled ankle and just thought "ugh, elders.". I stood up walked around and carried on my way. I said a prayer that the swelling would go down and that I could drive home. My prayer was answered. By the time we arrived at dinner my ankle was simply blue but the swelling was gone. It still hurt but no incident will hinder my work. Heavenly Father helps his missionaries.
We had the opportunity this week to help one of our members with her pet goats! She has a cute little goat farm with about 40 goats. She just had babies last week. We helped her muck stalls (eh, not my fav job, definitely not the grossest job I have ever had), brush goats, and check the babies to make sure they are doing well. Afterward we milked them. I don't know about y'all but MILKING A GOAT IS SO FUN. I love it so much. I milked 3 goats and had a nice container of milk. Slowly but surely I'm becoming more country. Next thing you know, I will be wearing boots, drinking root beer for breakfast, and saying "futher " instead of "further". Better watch out 🤠.
We had stake conference this week and Elder Southward of the seventy came and joined us. It was an amazing experience. We were required to attend the leadership and adult meetings on Saturday. We spent nearly 6 hours at the stake center being trained, and taught, and spiritually uplifted. I love the refreshing experience of being touched by the spirit. In fact, right after the leadership meeting we had about an hour before the adult session. As we sat waiting (members drove us so we were slightly stranded at the stake center) I noticed a familiar face. Trying not to get my hopes up I tapped on this lady's shoulder. She turned around and her face lit up. If y'all remember my first email from Texas I shared an experience about meeting Dy. She is deaf and attends the deaf ward in the Denton stake.
We exchanged hugs and were able to sign a little before the meeting started. I miss signing so much, I feel like I know nothing but hey, I was able to sign with her for a little while to see how my first area is doing. Afterwards, Elder Southward came up to me and started to chat, he asked me how my sign language mission was going. I laughed and said "great! I sound like a 3 year old!" He laughed and said how long have you been out? I replied 9 months. He then had a concerned look on my face that I didn't know how to sign and had been out 9 months. I laughed and told him I was in Decatur and I was not a sign language missionary. Simply communicating with an old friend. He laughed and said "you got me". Even the Lords representatives have a good humor.
I love being a missionary so much. We spent most of this week contacting less actives and potential investigators. Twas a good week:)
I love y'all so much! Have a blessed week and I hope all y'all had a great fathers day. Dad's are the bomb. Earthly dad's and our Heavenly dad. Both of which I love a lot:) thank you to all who have acted as a fatherly figure in my life. This includes my real dad (true VIP), brothers, coaches, bishops, friends. All of you have had a great impact on my life and show the most amazing attributes of a fantastic father. Much love :')
Love y'all!
